PhiL bLaCk Story

The story really starts with my first solo gig at the Dublin Castle in Camden back in 2012. I came up with the idea of using a reel to reel tape recorder behind me as I had and still have no desire to work with or in the restrictions of a band, 2012 was fairly busy, gigging, writing and recording my first ep (PhiL bLaCk ep No1) which was finished and released on 12" vinyl in Jan 2013. spent most of 13' giggng (all kinds of places like the H+A in Islington, an old Public Toilet called Ginglik in Shepherds bush , more and more recording plus doing various local radio interviews. later in the year I recorded my second ep "Hey Scumbag". a CD only release with a sandpaper sleeve as the vinyl release was cancelled. (tho I have still have the tests) which came out early 2014.
14' was spend with more gigging at lots of different places, more radio interviews and later in the year was spent recording for my debut album. After a couple of technical issues were resolved "The Executive" lp was finally released on 25th March 2015 on Vinyl and CD. the launch party/gig was held at the Dublin Castle the same day. 15' is an eventful year with the lp, gigging various music festivals (especially Rebellion Punk Fest in Blackpool)
2016 has been an eventful year, In June I released an ep called "pet sounds" in celebration of the Beach boys Lp of the same name. then in July I released my "Injection" ep with 4 brand new songs. in August I once again appeared at Rebellion festival in August and also played two other adjoining gigs in Blackpool. In November I relocated to Sunny, Picturesque Hereford and was a feature performer at The Heart of Anarchy Festival at the Booth Hall (Hereford) and have just started recording my 2nd Lp which will be released  this year. and the round the year off nicely a film Called "Battle of Soho" of which I wrote and recorded the soundtrack for is finally getting its public release with a prestigious premiere at the Curzon theatre in Soho London and will be one of the feature presentations of the world reowned Cannes Film Festival in 2017.
